Reversing decisions made under former Premier Brad Wall, current Premier Scott Moe has announced that he has officially reinstated the Provincial Sales Tax exemption for agriculture, life and health insurance premiums, effective February 26th.

According to the premier the exemption covers crop, livestock and hail insurance premiums as well as individual and group life and health insurance premiums.  The exemption is retroactive to August 1 following Wall's final budget last spring.

There's still more details to work out though. Since the announcement is retroactive, the province needs to figure out how to address refunds to residents who have already started paying PST on insurance premiums.
