The premiers of two provinces, including Saskatchewan, and the governors of three states have penned a letter to the leaders of the two countries calling for the borders to be re-opened.  

Saskatchewan Premier Scott Moe and Alberta Premier Jason Kenney, along with Idaho Governor Brad Little, Montana Governor Greg Gianforte and North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum are calling on Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, and U.S. President Joe Biden to come to an agreement on the re-opening of the borders. The five want to see the movement of citizens, goods and tourists immediately. 

The point to the current restrictions as unnecessary delays and that the states and provinces are working together to provide vaccinations and manage the COVID-19 pandemic.  

Starting August 9th, rules for vaccinated Americans looking to enter Canada for non-essential reasons will be relaxed. There has been no set date for a change of the rules for Canadians going to the U.S.
