Thanks to the help of citizens the Moose Jaw Police Service were able to locate someone on an outstanding warrant on Wednesday.

Moose Jaw Police Service and CrimeStoppers were asking for help in trying to make an arrest after a bank robbery in Moose Jaw last spring.

Dustyn Halyk is wanted on a warrant after allegedly robbing the Conexus Credit Union April 25, 2017. The South Hill location was closed as of October 31st last year, after being robbed three times since the spring of 2015.

Halyk has a long criminal past including being sentenced in 2010 for gang initiation that included a stabbing over a headband that apparently represented his gang, shooting a firearm at a house party, and a bank robbery in Regina.

Moose Jaw Police and CrimeStoppers posted to social media Wedmesday evening that they made a successful arrest.

"Update: Dustyn Halyk was arrested on his outstanding warrant for robbery thanks in part to anonymous information provided to CrimeStoppers. The investigation since the robbery revealed enough evidence to issue a warrant for his arrest. All Canadian citizens have the presumption of innocence when charged until found guilty beyond a reasonable doubt by a judge or jury," a statement said in the CrimeStoppers Facebook page.
