What started in 2015 as a 20 year, $117 million dollar commitment by the City is continuing today, as Phase 3 of the Water Main Replacement project kicked off Monday. Phase 3 will see 2.7 km of outdated water main pipes across the city replaced in eight separate areas at the cost of $5.9 million dollars.

The work will be performed by KMS Construction out of Tuxford, SK, which has started the process of contacting property owners who will be affected, to discuss details around the project and how it will affect them.

The first street to see a facelift will be 11th Avenue North East from Fairford Street East to Stadacona Street East, which will be under construction until approximately May 20.

Other locations as part of Phase 3 Water Main Replacement include:

• Manitoba St. E from Main St. N to Third Ave NE

• Second Ave NE from Fairford St E to Manitoba St. E

• 12th Ave SW from Lillooet St W to Vaughan St W
