The return of construction season also means the beginning of Phase Two of the Cast Iron Water Main Replacement Project. The three month project will continue where it left off last summer, focused on some of the most troublesome areas of the city.

"We did a similar thing (as last year) in terms of looking at high break frequency," explained Colin Prang with the Engineering Department. "But what we did slightly different with phase two was combine that with what was near by as well so we ended up with three main locations rather than eight.''

The areas being worked on this summer included Caribou Street West from 4th NW to 1st NW, High Street West from 8th NW to 3rd NW, 3rd NW from River Street to Fairford Street W, Keith Street West from 9th SW to Valleyview Drive and Valleyview Drive from east of 9th SW to 7th SW.
