After a spike of Parvovirus cases in Regina and 11 dogs being euthanized because of it, there has been a little panic surrounding the disease in Saskatchewan.

Parvo is a serious concern for pet owners but can be easily prevented with regular vaccines. If you're worried about it you can always look out for the symptoms.

"Your dog with get severe diarrhea, throwing up and will become lethargic, they also dehydrate very quickly," explained local trainer Gary Overs. "If your dog becomes lethargic, I'd be getting them into the veterinarian as soon as possible."

Mainly younger dogs are at risk for the disease, as it can be easily transmitted through oral or fecal contact with other infected dogs.
