The Prairie South School Division is sending out a letter informing parents of an unknown male adult in a black or dark grey truck who asked children if they wanted a ride and invited them into his vehicle.

Prairie South School Division is asking all parents and guardians to report any suspicious activity immediately to the police, and to ensure they speak with their children about basic safety precautions to follow while walking to and from school. School staff say they will continue to follow safety protocols while students are being picked up and continue supervision over the kids while at school.

"It's just common sense to talk to them about some procedures to follow if a vehicle pulls up to them and stops or asks questions." said Derrick Huschi, Superintendent of School Operations for the Prairie South School Division.

"This is an isolated incident but we take all potential hazards seriously and we inform the parents that there was a situation and we informed the police."

Any vehicle whose driver attempts to speak to children should be regarded with caution. The police have been informed and are investigating the matter.
