October has been a bit of a rocky road weatherwise so far.

Forecasters are predicting that this type of activity will continue throughout the entire month, along with plenty of moisture.

"Our longer range forecast said it was going to be a warm and dry fall; certainly, (that's) not coming to fruition," explained Terri Lang with Environment Canada. "I don't think Mother Nature got the memo on that one."

While some don't mind a little rain here and there, Lang noted that there are still a few producers who are trying to wrap up the latest season.

"Except for those farmers that are still trying to get the rest of the crops off the field, so that's a bit of an issue there, but I think any moisture is collateral for next year too."

She noted that where we are located speaks to why we see such abrupt changes in weather and why we see systems move in bringing some cold and wet conditions.

"They combine a lot of the moisture that comes up from the south, they really do suck in the Gulf of Mexico moisture that comes through, but it also really sucks in the cold air to the north."

After some sunny skies on Wednesday, the forecast states that'll continue through to Thursday; however, on Friday things will change as showers are expected to roll in.
