The city of Moose Jaw has provided an update on outdoor rinks throughout the city that are ready for use.

Currently; Smith, Moose Square, Elgin Park and the Sunningdale rinks all have nets set up and will have lights on between 5-10 pm.

All rinks will have specific hours of supervision as well.

  • Moose Square; Wed- Fri 1:00-4 pm, Sunday 6-8 pm
  • Sunningdale Park; Mon & Fri 5-8 PM,Tuesday 4-6 PM, Sat & Sun 2-5 PM
  • Smith Park; Mon-Fri 5-9 PM, Sat-Sun 3-7 PM

 

According to the city of Moose Jaw, rinks have also been put into 3 different 'Priority' categories;

Priority 1 Outdoor Rinks – with Snow removal, scraped and flood twice a week.

  • East End Rink: 9th Avenue & Ominica Street East
  • Sunningdale Rink: Daffodil Drive
  • Moose Square Rink: 600 Block Stadacona Street West
  • West End Rink: 10th Avenue & Athabasca Street West
  • Smith Park Rink: 1200 Block Hastings Street
  • Regal Heights Rink: 1400 Block 13th Avenue Northwest

Priority 2 Outdoor Rinks – Snow removal, scrape and flood once a week

  • Kinfield Rink: 100 Block Grandview Street West
  • Ross Wells Rink (Clark Gillies): Ross Crescent & Oxford Street East
  • Westheath Rink: Wellington Dr. & Spadina Dr.
  • Wood Lily Rink: 466 Wood Lily Drive

Priority 3 Outdoor Rinks – The skating pads will be cleaned and flooded once a week on a variable schedule based on the completion of maintenance on the Priority 1 and Priority 2 rinks.

  • Henleaze skating pad: 1100 Block Henleaze Ave
  • Elgin Park skating pad, 8th Avenue & Hall Street West

 

The Kiwanis River Park Skating Oval located in Wakamow Valley is ready for use as well. To book the Pavilion located beside the oval, you can call Wakamow at (306) 693-2717.
