Names are being taken for the 2020 Saskatchewan Volunteer Medal as well as the Saskatchewan Order of Merit.

The Order of Merit is the province's highest honour to recognize excellence, achievement and contributions to the cultural, social and economic well-being of the province.

Nominees must be current or former long-term residents of Saskatchewan. Posthumous nominations are allowed within one year of the person's death.

Nominations close on Nov. 1 and, new this year, nominations must be submitted online at the Government of Saskatchewan's website. The Order of Merit will be presented by the Lieutenant Governor at a ceremony next year.

The Saskatchewan Volunteer Medal recognizes individuals who go above and beyond with volunteerism in the province. Nominees can also be current or former long-term residents of Saskatchewan.

Nominees can be individuals or groups, but not organizations.
