Do you know of an organization or resident that deserves recognition for their endless hard work? Here's your chance to shine a spotlight on those who deserve it.

The Moose Jaw & District Chamber of Commerce will hand out their Citizen and Group of the Year awards on January 28th at the Heritage Inn.

The awards recognize those who have made significant contributions to the social and economic climate of Moose Jaw. Last year Corey Olafson was given the honour of Citizen of the Year, and Group of the Year went to 15 Wing Fellowship.

Moose Jaw Chamber of Commerce CEO Rob Clark.

"We do need nominations. We need to find some hometown heroes out there and we know there are lots of them. We're asking the community to find someone. Go to our website with a citizen or group of the year, apply online, fill in the application form as best you can. We will have some prizing for the quality submissions as well. You can work on it [application form], walk away and it will all save, come back and finish it a few days later. Our deadline is January 10".

Clark tells us what type of people or group they would like to see nominated.

"As long as they are significant or helping our community. We've had people at the luncheon who just pick up garbage while they are on their walks, that's pretty amazing. If they don't win they will at least be recognized, and they deserve to be recognized."
