After speculation in recent weeks about a spring election in Saskatchewan, Premier Scott Moe took to social media Thursday morning to end any thoughts of it.

“We will remain focused on providing a strong, stable government and addressing the health and economic challenges caused by the COVID-19 pandemic,” Moe said in a tweet. “I will not be calling a provincial election this spring.”

There was talk of the premier potentially calling an election this spring after the 2020-21 budget had been passed. As things currently stand, the next provincial election will be held on October 26th, unless the legislature is dissolved earlier.
