It's been a talking point, springboard and one of the biggest pieces of the NDP's fight against the Saskatchewan Party for years but the RCMP have concluded there was no criminal wrongdoing in the Global Transportation Hub land sales. The project east of Regina saw land change hands in what some call "shady" backroom deals but the RCMP feel they've done their due diligence to try and get to the bottom of the accusations.

RCMP Superintendent Paul Saganski released details of the investigation this week saying they dedicated over 7,500 person-hours to the cases.

"It was a multi-layered investigation spanning two years of financial transactions and land dealings involving multiple parties," announced Saganski during the news conference. "Over 40 people were interviewed in relation to the investigation and some of them re-interviewed. Thousands of pages of documents were examined and all of the documents the RCMP examined were freely provided to investigators by the holding parties."

This investigation started back in February of 2016 and concluded with the announcement that no charges would be laid. As a result, RCMP will not be releasing individual names or companies involved.

RCMP worked with members of the Manitoba Prosecution Services to pour over any potential evidence before concluding there was no information to support filing charges.
