Elgin Park is getting some additional attention this week as a new winter sport has officially opened. The new Crokicurl Rink is up and running.

The game has been a winter staple or feature for a number of Canadian communities over the years but is a first for Moose Jaw according to Recreation Services Manager Barb Fysh.

"It's a combination of Crokinole, the board game, and curling and the object of the game is to accumulate the most points."

The playing surface is similar to a curling house but with the pegs found on a Crokinole game board. There's no rental fee to try out the game or use the rocks at the facility; however, there is a damage deposit.  Click here to find out more about taking part.
