The Moose Jaw & District Chamber of Commerce has a new President.

Greg McIntyre assumed the role from outgoing President Darcia Hojenski at the Chamber's annual luncheon Tuesday.

One issue that came up was small business owners and farmers have spoken out loudly against proposed tax changes by the federal government.

That is of concern to McIntyre, who says he wants to find out more details before judging what the impact could be. He did say he is watching the situation closely.

"Moose Jaw is like the Fort McMurry for agriculture. So anything that can potentially put a ripple through our ag industry in Moose Jaw is going to trickle down to your store front operation here. We've got a high degree of sensitivity to anything that could challenge that."
