The provincial ministry of education has announced an expansion of the Early Learning Intensive Support pilot program into Moose Jaw and four other cities in the province.

The expansion will provide 50 more spaces for children with intensive needs in Moose Jaw, North Battleford, Swift Current, Prince Albert and Yorkton. There are now a total of 170 spaces for pre-kindergarten children with special needs. More than $2 million in funding is being made available through the Canada-Saskatchewan Early Learning and Child Care Agreement.

“This expansion will provide 50 more Saskatchewan children with intensive needs access to professional supports,” said education minister Gord Wyant.

“Today’s announcement will allow more children with intensive needs in Saskatchewan to access support and resources that will help them have a good start in life so that they can succeed,” said Minister of Public Safety Ralph Goodale.
