A newly created Crown Corporation will be taking over the 911 emergency dispatching service in Saskatchewan.

Since 2006 the province has been co-managing the system with the City of Prince Albert, but the new Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency will look to streamline the service and also manager future expansion.

Prince Albert will host the new facility and take over all 911 services for the province, except for Regina and Saskatoon. They will continue to run their own emergency dispatching centres.

In addition to the new crown corp, the province also announced they would be increasing the 911 emergency service fee by 32 cents effective January next year.

The new Crown will report to the Minister of Government Relations.
