Nearly 30 years ago, Col. Jonathan Bouchard from Montreal was a flight student, spending a couple of years at 15 Wing Moose Jaw.

Now, in 2021, Bouchard has been named the new commanding officer at the base, taking over from outgoing officer Col. Ron Walker.

Bouchard told Discover Moose Jaw that he was excited to be returning to 15 Wing.

“The wing looks very different, but the team continues to do good things and produce pilots for our military and support the Snowbirds throughout their adventures across Canada,” he said.

Bouchard joined the armed forces in 1990. He spent 1991 and 1992 at 15 Wing Moose Jaw training as a pilot. He received his pilot wings in April of 1993 at 3 Canadian Forces Flying Training School  Portage La Prairie.
