The Moose Jaw Chamber of Commerce announced their new president for the upcoming year at their annual general meeting on Thursday at the Grant Hall.

Speaking to a full room, former president – Greg McIntyre – spoke at the chambers annual general meeting, giving his outgoing remarks and passing on the role and title of President to the newly sworn in Riley Wright.

Wright talks a little about himself, and explains why he thinks he is a good fit for this new role;

"I work for the Moose Jaw Coop, I'm the operations manager and controller. I've been in Moose Jaw for 10 years, came here in 2008 and am originally from Portage La Prairie, Manitoba", "I'm obviously involved in managing a fairly large organization. My education being an accountant, so strong financial background, grew up in a family business so I've been part of commerce and economics my whole life".

The Moose Jaw Chamber of Commerce is approaching its 130th year as we make our way toward 2019. Wright says he's happy with where he sees the chamber heading, but that there's always room for some improvement;

"I think we're already on the right track and already doing things so well. I think it's just a matter of a few new ideas and tweaking what we're already doing so that we can continue to build off the momentum that's been created the last couple of years".

Wright has been a chamber member for the last 3 years, and prior to Thursday, sat in the role of Vice President.
