Members of the Saskatchewan NDP were in Moose Jaw this weekend planning for the selection of their next leader.

Originally, they had planned a leadership convention for May but with news that the governing Saskatchewan Party will pick their new leader in January, the NDP have stepped up the process. They will pick March 3rd now so they can have an opposition leader in place to square off with the new Premier.

Currently, former interim leader Trent Wotherspoon and Saskatoon MLA Ryan Meili are running for the position. Other potential candidates have until January 12th to get their paperwork into the party officials.
