Over 1,000 people braved the rain at Ross Wells Park on Saturday for the K+S Homestand '21 concert.

Barney Bentall & The Cariboo Express, Dustin Bentall, JJ Shiplett, Nice Horse, and Kacy & Clayton hit the stage as part of the event, which was almost put on pause due to a brief rainstorm that blew in shortly before the show was set to start.

The show was put on by Riverstreet Promotions, with all funds raised going toward supporting mental health initiatives in the Prairie South School Division and the beautification of Ross Wells Park.

Member of Riverstreet Promotions, James Murdock, say's they aren't quite sure yet just how much money was raised.

"We'll have some numbers soon that we'll announce. There's going to be some discussions going on here in the very near future with some of the superintendents from Prairie South. They've asked us if we could be part of some discussions on where dollars are directed to, which we appreciate that opportunity."

As for the idea of hosting a potential Homestand '22, Murdock says they're planning on meeting and talking with the City about it in the near future.

"Thank you to the city of Moose Jaw, particularly parks and recreation because they had to come on board to give us permission to use Ross Wells Park, and without that - we would have figured something out, but Ross Wells was perfect. We're going to be talking with them over the next week or so just to throw a couple of dates at them for next year to see what might work."
