MultiPlex Goes to a Vote

It's valid! We'll be voting "yes" or "no" on the proposed multiplex.

The Moose Jaw City Clerk-Solicitor's office calling a petition to force a vote valid after going over 115 pages of signatures submitted to City Hall. That petition was deemed to have no less than 3302 signatures from people in favour of putting the project to a vote this October in the Municipal Election.

Bob Peden is a representative for the group behind the petition. "The driving force behind getting the petition together was just to let the citizens of Moose Jaw have their say in what is the biggest expenditure in city history for one project. Its not that we're against it but what we wanted was for the people of Moose Jaw to have their say in what's going on."

The final report was presented to Council Monday night and administration is now busy preparing a question to submit to voters in October.
