With the warm weather finally starting to stick, motorcycle season is just around the corner.

With motorcycles comes safety, and it's important to be aware that more motorcyclists are on the road.

Tyler McMurchy from SGI on what hazards motorcycles pose to other vehicles. "Motorcycles are obviously smaller than other vehicles, they are sometimes harder to see, and they're more agile which means that their movements might not be as predictable as a larger vehicle."

Safety gear is very important when riding a motorcycle because motorcyclists are more in danger of serious injury or death than other vehicles on the road. McMurchy describes what riders should wear, "All riders should wear helmet and eye protection, and for new riders there are additional requirements as far as gear. So be aware of what you're required to wear when it comes to safety equipment."

McMurchy advises motorcyclists are extra visible, wearing reflectors or bright clothing will do. He also advises non-motorcyclists to be especially cautious at crowded intersection just to make sure there isn't a motorcycle in your blind spot.  McMurchy explained what he recommends riders, "One thing we recommend for all motorcyclists is to take a training course, we really strongly encourage that."
