Motorists might want to give themselves a bit more time if they're traveling on Highway 1 west of Moose Jaw this month.

As work continues to complete the Chinook Power Station west of Swift Current, the Pasqua station just outside of our city to Swift Current's station transmission line project is also nearing its completion.

Starting Tuesday there will be lane restrictions and a reduced speed limit in areas down to 60 km/h an hour.

We'll also see several short traffic stoppages from Wednesday through Saturday, weather depending, for a helicopter to string power lines across the highway.

Depending on how this Saskatchewan weather holds up, the final helicopter stringing is expected for February 19th to 22nd.

The Pasqua to Swift Current transmission line will bring juice from the new Chinook Power Station just west of Swift Current to customers around the province.
