Already looking for a buyer for River Street, another key piece in the proposed Little Chicago Development is up for sale.

The building at the corner of River and Main Street that houses the Chocolate Moose Fudge Factory, the Tunnels of Moose Jaw Passage to Fortune Tour and at one time, the Little Chicago office was recently listed for sale.

The owners are asking $1.3 million dollars for the 17,000 square foot property that was built in 1925. Tunnels of Moose Jaw have indicated to us that even though the property is for sale, their future is secure.

You may recall, the Little Chicago Development Company made promises to rebuild River Street West as a tourist destination with a new hotel connected to Mosaic Place, full of shops and restaurants. It's been almost a decade and the only thing that has happened was the demolition of historic hotels and bars located on the street, including the Brunswick where the paperwork to make Moose Jaw a city was signed.

The city moved to take ownership of the River Street property this spring for unpaid taxes. That land is also still listed for sale at 1.375 million dollars.
