It's now official. Moose Jaw's High Street West is the worst road in the province... to make matters worse... our city has a total of three roads in the annual CAA Saskatchewan worst roads in the province list.

"This year the CAA Worst Roads campaign resulted in 1,782 votes being received from all types of Saskatchewan road users" says CAA Spokesperson Christine Niemczyk, "Indeed 3 of the roads in the top 10 are from Moose Jaw. We have High Street West as the Number 1 worst road. Followed by another Moose Jaw favourite 1st Ave SE, and in 10th position was 9th Ave South West in Moose Jaw".

While the list typically show the worst highways in the province, Niemczyk says voters were clearing sending a message to municipal leaders this year as 5 of the ten finalists... were urban roads.

"The interesting thing about this years campaign is that we did hear from a number of Saskatchewan road users who live in municipal areas and were voting on roads in their own residential, commercial or business area. We did hear not only from Moose Jaw residents and road users, but we also heard from road users in Regina and Maple Creek as Well".

1782 votes were received in the campaign this year but they aren't broken down for each of the finalists.
