The Moose Jaw Exhibition Company Board made an announcement last week that the Friendly City will be hosting a provincial competition at the Exhibition Grounds.

"Well after several months of working with the Saskatchewan Barrel Racing Association and putting together a package for them, they're going to host their provincial finals here in 2019," Moose Jaw Exhibition Company General Manager George Fowler said. "It involves approximately 450 horses and then obviously the people that go with the horses. It's usually 1.75 people per horse."

With that, we could expect over 750 visitors from August 13th to the 16th.

All the events will be held at the Exhibition Company Grounds with the competition taking place at the Golden Mile Arena, and warmups taking place outdoors. The event is even free to the public and something which Moose Jaw has seen in the past.

"We hosted it once years ago, and then we haven't hosted it for a number of years. Back in after working hard with the barrel racing people, done a lot of work to our facilities in order to host events this size and events of this profile," Fowler explained. "This is the biggest horse show in the province by far."
