It was another busy year at the Moose Jaw Public Library in 2018.

Representatives from the library presented their annual report at council’s regular meeting, and went through the numbers for the year.

They had 170,395 visits in 2018, an average of 52 people per hour. Their computers, which are free to the public, had 14,166 sessions.

Their 64 youth programs had 769 attendees. The 213 juvenile programs had 4,613 in attendance and their 130 adult programs has 1,051 people going.

The library’s summer reading program had 591 children registered, and their Young Adult Summer Reading Program had 59 participants scratching a total of 743 tickets. Seventy Eight prizes were handed out, including seven grad prizes – including to one youth who had 200 hours logged.

Their resource staff answered 20,902 questions in the year, in increase of 15.6 per cent.

Including electronic resources, they had 282,252 items borrowed over the course of the year.
