The Moose Jaw Public Library has partnered with Moose Jaw Pride to present a new monthly virtual event, 'Diversity Storytime'.

"Our goal with this is to normalize and make the whole diversity experience more accessible to citizens of Moose Jaw by giving them the opportunity to speak with individuals that they might not be able to meet on a regular day-to-day basis."

Storytime will take place on the first Wednesday of every month, and those who want to take part can visit the Moose Jaw Public Library website, or Moose Jaw Pride website.

Dolcetti says they've already got their first guest reader lined up, but that they are looking for more volunteers.

"We are happy and proud to have a Moose Jaw Pride representative to be our very first reader and they'll be reading books like 'From the Stars in the Sky to the Fish in the Sea', which is a beautiful book on inclusion. We're looking for more volunteers too of diverse backgrounds, diverse disabilities, or gender identities. Basically, diverse identities."

Once the committee approves volunteer hopefuls, they will then be given a date to read a story over the event steam.

You can contact the Moose Jaw Public Library, or MJ Pride on social media or their websites if you are interested in volunteering.
