The Moose Jaw Police K9 unit was deployed early Monday morning, resulting in an arrest.

Moose Jaw Police say that just after 5:00 a.m., they responded to a report of a male in a vehicle pointing a handgun at another person.

Officers were dispatched and conducted what they called a "high risk vehicle stop," resulting in two occupants being removed and apprehended, while a third suspect refused to cooperate and tried to flee the scene in the vehicle.

The K9 unit was put into action, resulting in the arrest. The suspect sustained minor injuries during the incident, and was examined by Moose Jaw Paramedics.

22-year old Joshua Adams has been charged with several offences including assault with a weapon, possessing a weapon dangerous to the public, resisting arrest and breach of conditions.

He'll appear in court later today.

The K9 unit also helped make an arrest this past Friday in Moose Jaw.
