Moose Jaw's Siera Bearchell

She's been working in pageantry since she was 16 and going for the Miss Teen Saskatchewan, but now Moose Jaw's Siera Bearchell has been named Miss Supra National Canada.

Bearchell spoke about how she got her start in pageantry.

"I decided to give Miss Teen Saskatchewan a go a couple weeks after we lost our home in a fire, so it was a last minute decision, but I did well there and was successful. I went on to win Miss Teen Canada World and eventually second runner up at Miss Teen World, then I was first runner up at Miss Universe Canada in 2013."

Bearchell says she's had plenty of great experiences from performing in pageants.

"I've had the opportunity to work in Kenya to build a school with Free the Children and work with children in Nicaragua with Operation Smile. I really attribute a lot of the things I've been able to do and the success I've had to my pageant experience." Bearchell says, "It's given me leadership skills, speaking skills, organizational skills, and has taught me to be dedicated and hard working and that if you persevere, you can find success."

Bearchell explains what it means to her to now move on to the next stage in pageantry.

"This is going to be an exciting experience. I will be representing Canada at the Miss Supranational, which is going to be wonderful. I'll spend 2-3 weeks in Poland in late November to early December, and then maybe I'll have a chance at the crown of Miss Supranational. From there you get to travel around the world and I'll get to do some special appearances."

She added that she mainly enjoys being able to work with the less fortunate and give back.
