A man from Moose Jaw is facing multiple charges including forcible confinement after an incident that took place Tuesday morning.

According to police they received a call just after 10am from a female who was claiming a man in the home was destroying property and threatening self-harm.

Upon arrival officers found the female who had ran from the residence and had been assaulted outside suffering from minor injuries.

The male had attempted to flee but was stopped by witnesses, he returned to the home and locked himself in the bathroom.

Officers were able to get the man to surrender peacefully and was taken into custody.

28-year old Eric Meyer of Moose Jaw is facing charges of assault causing bodily harm, assault, forcible confinement, taking a motor vehicle without owner’s consent, mischief over $5000 and breach of undertaking.

Meyer appeared in court on Tuesday, was remanded back into custody and will return to court on September 28th for a show cause hearing.
