The Moose Jaw Kinettes Club has had a busy last few months preparing for this weekends Telemiracle 43.

The annual fundraising event, which takes place at the Sasktel Centre in Saskatoon this year, raises donations for Saskatchewan residents to help acquire special needs equipment and access to medical treatment.

Kinettes Club President Tanya Heisler details how they raised some of the money that they will be donating this weekend.

"The Kinette Club ran the Safe Ride for the Sports Celebrity Banquet and we had a motion to donate all the tips we made that evening to Telemiracle. We ended up getting about $500 in tips from giving people rides home that night. We've also put out the collection boxes throughout Moose Jaw, so we'll add that in."

Members of the Moose Jaw Kinettes and Kinsmen club will be taking part in the show as well, appearing on stage at 1:25pm on Sunday.

"We are going to the broadcast in Saskatoon this year, we have both Kinsmen and Kinettes - about 18 people going up. We will be doing the on-air presentation on Sunday afternoon right after one of our local girls perform. There are two local girls singing this year, there's Caylee Storozuk and Grace King."

The Kinettes still have some fundraising to do as well before they head off to the bridge city, they will be taking part in the Moose Jaw Warriors game Friday hosting a 'Chuck-a-puck' contest.

Heisler says aside from the fundraising they have been taking part in the last month, they've also been celebrating the anniversary of Kinettes and Kinsmen.

"Our founding day was February 20th so they always do a National Day of Kindness. Our Kinette club organized a visit to Cheateau St. Michaels, we sent some of our girls over there, some who took their kids just to visit residents and to do something to promote kindness within the community. Just doing some good deeds out there."

The 20-hour telethon has raised over $123,000,000 over the last 42 years, which is more money-per-capita than any other telethon in the world. The event all gets started Saturday night at 9pm.
