As the needs get larger, the shelves at the Moose Jaw & District Food Bank get emptier.

That's why RBC in Moose jaw is organizing a food drive during next week's Hometown Fair Parade.

"We used to hand out about 300 hampers a month and now we're doing about 350 hampers a month, the need has increased but we're here to help those who really need it," said the Food Bank's Deann Little.

There's many different items that the food bank is low on or have run out of according to Little.

"Canned fruit or canned fruit cups, hamburger helper, instant potatoes, crackers, pork and beans, granola bars... I'm completely out of those. Also, diapers size 4-6, I have none of those right now."

We're encouraged to bring non-perishable items that will be collected along the parade route, and Little says any help is appreciated.

The Hometown Fair Parade is set for June 22nd down Main Street.
