While Moose Jaw is abuzz with the discussions, changes, and arguments about the change to curbside pick up, some cities are talking about a whole new garbage program.

Saskatoon's proposal is to switch from their current program to charging based on how much trash citizens create.

This is nothing new, as some cities already use a type of program where you must purchase certain bags, meaning you have to buy these bags order for the trash to be picked up, and be charged for the bags you've purchased.

Discussions on the new system is still fresh in Saskatoon, and a proposal is still being made, but ideas of composting and a recycling program have been added now, meaning more citizens should recycle and divert more trash away from the landfill.

Meanwhile, Moose Jaw will keep working with citizens for the switch to curbside pick-up.
