Having a child in the hospital is never an easy thing to deal with, let alone needing to coordinate a place to stay if the child needs to be in that hospital for an extended amount of time in a different city.  That's where the Ronald McDonald House program comes in.

On Wednesday, $1 from every Big Mac, Happy Meal and coffee that was sold, went to supporting families across the country. The homes in various cities, like Saskatoon, provide housing and support for families who have a child undergoing medical treatment. Chris Mealing's son Deacon has a rare condition which causes development and health issues, resulting in treatment in Saskatoon.

"From what they have at the home, from the full kitchens to the individual bedrooms... everything is just there to make your stay as easy as possible." said Mealing.

All funds raised across the country on Wednesday will go to Ronald McDonald House, which supports over 30,000 families in Canada.
