With more and more programs being canceled, facilities being closed and schools being shut down, Mayor Fraser Tolmie says its time for the community to come together to protect one another.

He said the restriction put in place for the safety of the community and he's optimistic that Moose Jaw will pull through.

"We are going to get through this, we are going to prevail. It is how we face these challenges that decide how we overcome and be victorious. The measures we are taking now are to overcome this issue as quickly as possible."

Tolmie is urging residents to listen to and follow the Saskatchewan Health Authority's guidelines during this pandemic. He says the cities decisions are being made based on whats best for Moose Jaw, and not being made out of fear.

"Do not mistake the precautionary measures that are being taken to ensure your safety as panic. The city is taking precautions for the communities safety."
