Jordon Shields, 36, made an initial court appearance Monday morning in Moose Jaw Provincial Court on a charge of attempted murder following a shooting on Friday.

He was remanded in custody until his next court appearance on April 2.

Shields is facing a total of eight charges, including attempted murder while using a firearm, as well as two separate charges of Assault with a Weapon - the weapons being a cane and a dog.

In total, Shields is accused of three breaches of court orders, three assaults, Break and Enter to Commit Assault and Attempted Murder.

Shields was arrested on the weekend after the Moose Jaw Police Service attended to a call where a man was shot in the abdomen early Friday morning.
