$17,000 worth of illegal cigarettes, illicit marijuana, and firearms are off the street, after an arrest last week by the Moose Jaw Police Service.

The Moose Jaw Police Service Patrol, Criminal Investigation, and K9 Unit executed a search warrant in the RM of Moose Jaw on December 8, regarding an ongoing investigation into the acquisition, possession, and distribution of illegal and unstamped tobacco and cigarettes in/near Moose Jaw.

During the search, police discovered approximately 34,000 illegal cigarettes, approximately 900 grams of illicit marijuana, four firearms, and over $6000.00 in cash.

A number of Criminal Code of Canada charges have been laid against Kelly David Seida, who was released on an Undertaking and is scheduled to appear back in court on February 8th.

Police continue to investigate.

The Moose Jaw Police Service reminds everyone that possession of unstamped tobacco is illegal and that the illegal tobacco and marijuana trade is unregulated and ultimately supports organized crime.

This tobacco and marijuana also give people - especially young people - easier access to cigarettes and takes millions of tax dollars away from public services, like education and health care.
