You've likely hit a construction site in Moose Jaw over the last several weeks as city crews and contractors try to check off as many projects as they can before the season comes to an end. The latest piece of the 2018 Road Rehabilitation Program will see Main Street get a facelift.

Communications Manager Craig Hemingway explains that the barricades will be up between Ominica and High Street so work can be done before the weekend.

"Contractors will be milling the road and then they'll have to re-apply asphalt... so it's a complete resurfacing of that stretch of Main Street," said Hemingway.

Southbound lanes will be closed to allow for the work and because of that temporary bus stops will be in place for any routes affected by the closures. Hemingway says Sunningdale and Athabasca West transit routes will be diverted to 1st Avenue Northwest, one block away from where the original bus stops are placed.

The intersection at High and Main will remain open for traffic, as a result, downtown transfer points will be moved to the south side of High Street West, where parking meters are bagged for the temporary bus stop.
