Mayor Fraser Tolmie addresses the crowd

VP of Marketing and Sales, Trevor Grant, said they were happy to help.

"It was a no-brainer. As soon as we heard about this story we felt compelled to lend some support. We reached out to the mayor and had some discussions and put together a plan with our team. We're just thrilled to be here and be a part of it."

Mayor Fraser Tolmie addressed the crowd, saying he couldn't have been happier about the announcement, and he compared the people of Saskatchewan to moose, saying we're strong, resilient, and proud.

He continued by saying the outpouring of support from the community the last few weeks has been outstanding.

"We've had a lot of people come forward. Sask Polytechnic, engineering firms, lots of people with expertise, a local taxidermy - they want to help and they want to contribute. We've got to put this all together in a room. We're going to look at our options and seriously see what's the best way forward."

It was a full house at the Tourism Centre Wednesday morningWith the total donations toward Mac the Moose nearing $50,000, Mayor Tolmie said there is still more that needs to be decide before they take the next step.

"This allows us to move forward with plans, and we're going to be having an engineer look at Mac the Moose and ensure that Mac can obviously get a new rack. We're going to make sure his structural integrity stays in place. We need to make sure he can stand the test of time."
