Carol Fisher of Lumsden got a recent boost to her bank account, after winning a month-long Chase the Ace pot.

The well-known member of the community of Lumsden, who's also the face of the Public Library, picked up $75,000 late last week at the community fundraiser hosted by the Lumsden and District Lions Club.

Fisher had nothing but praise for the club.

"They're such a strong, hardworking club in our community, and they've done so many great things. They raise money and give it to our Heritage Home which is a senior home, they give money to the school, they've given money to the library as well which is where I work. They're a wonderful club in our community that supports our community amazingly. This is a really good fundraiser because people get excited by it. I'm just stressing that the Lumsden Lions Club is such a hardworking force in our community."

The Lumsden and District Lions Club has raised money for local schools, they've built playgrounds around town, and they help fund baby kits for new mothers at the local hospital.

"I'm delighted with my win! But I'm still stunned."
