A local charity is getting some extra help this holiday season, Hunger In Moose Jaw is teaming up with local woman, Linda Lavineway to help fundraise for the non-profit.

Lavineway has been collecting and building pieces for a miniature Christmas themed village for the past 16 years, and what started out as a small Christmas set, is now 32 feet long.

Lavineway explained what's inside her village.

"It's a little bit of everything. We've always enjoyed driving through the mountains so we knew we wanted mountains and water in there. A little bit of country, a little bit of city. It was just fun stuff, whatever caught my eye is what I went for."

Lavineway continued, "So we open it up evenings and weekends for family tours. All we ask is a donation to Hunger in Moose Jaw and 100% of what we get goes towards kids' school lunches."

This is, unfortunately, the last year that the Christmas village will be put up. "We've thoroughly enjoyed it but it's very time demanding," says Lavineway.

The village will go up for sale after this year.
