I Got Legs is an organization which helps paraplegics to acquire wheelchairs and mobility technology, and supports those who need it. A local nurse is currently fundraising to help the organization with those goals.

Kate Sullivan is a registered nurse working at the Dr. FH Wigmore Hospital in the operating room, and she began fundraising as part of a marathon she plans to run this October.

She explained how the fundraiser's going so far:

"It's really good, I wasn't sure how it was going to go and it's a lot of work fundraising - but it's been really nice to see people rally around and be really supportive and give to the cause. I think because I'm in a medical environment that helps."

I Got Legs was started by Adam Gorlitsky, a paraplegic who got the chance to walk again, in a way.

"Two years ago he got to use what's called a ReWalk robotic exoskeleton that allows him to actually walk rather than use a wheelchair, and now his mission is to provide other people who are paraplegic or have spinal cord injuries with the same technology."

"Kind of on a whim I decided I wanted to do a marathon, just kind of out of the blue, because I'm not actually a huge runner, [it's] kind of a goal I set for myself. And then in talking with my friend at the time I knew there was a need there, so I decided to use my training as a platform."

Sullivan currently has a go fund me page up right now to accept donations and has various fundraisers planned in the coming months.
