A local Grade 10 high student who attends Peacock Collegiate is looking for your help.

Austin Harvey decided to try and raise as much money as he can for the 2020 Telemiracle Foundation.

Selling Maple Leaf Bakery donuts at the school and shaving his head on Wednesday, all is taking place in Peacock's Cafeteria at Noon.

"For Telemicracle, we are trying to raise money through a donut sale and by shaving my head to you know, try and get people's attention and stuff," says Harvey.

Harvey hopes to raise three hundred dollars or more to bring in a meaningful amount of money to the Telemiracle Foundation.

"I didn't know much about it for a while, but It's always been in the back of my mind. There are people in my family who have disabilities or could use some of the stuff  that Telemiracle offers and I know I have lots of friends who might use it so I just think it's really good for that."

Donations can be made by calling Peacock Collegiate or by visiting the school. Donuts will be sold for $1 apiece and if Harvey can raise $150 or more, that's when he'll shave off his long hair.

Telemiracle is into its 44th year and will be taking place this weekend. The fundraiser is a 20-hour telethon to raise money for specialized mobility and medical equipment and medical travel assistance in the province.

This year, the stage will be set in Regina at the Conexus Arts Centre on March 7th and 8th.
