Students at Lindale School are asking residents in the surrounding area to light up their houses for the holidays.

It's all a part of a new competition that was started by Grade 7 students, hoping to boost festivity in the area as we get closer and closer to Christmas.

Grade 7 student Kuz explains.

"It has to be within walking distance from the school, and there's going to be certain categories like 'Best Theme', 'Best Blow-ups', 'Best Lights', 'Most Christmassy'."

Addison gave some details as well.

"We're going to walk around and judge them, and they can send us in pictures to the school email. Whoever has the best in each category, we'll shovel their driveway or cleanup their lawn."

Principal of Lindale School, Eric Campbell, says they will be judging houses from 9th Avenue, to Grace Street, to Simcoe Street.

Pictures of lights and displays can be sent to school.lindale@prairiesouth.ca.
