Isolation isn't exactly fun.

As many of us are stuck at home for the foreseeable future, it's very easy to find yourself in a bit of an emotional funk - whether it be from boredom, being cooped up, or, well, being isolated.

The warm weather we've got on the way may not make it easy, but it's a good opportunity to spend some time outside in your yard to get some fresh air.

Robyn Cunningham is a registered yoga instructor in Moose Jaw and the founder of 'Full-Circle', an online yoga studio.

"If you say 'yes' to the bag of chips or 'yes' to Netflix, go for it. But then maybe set a reasonable expectation on how much you're eating or how much time you're spending doing it. The key is to not feel guilty. It's the guilt that drives more anxiety and more desperation. There's nothing wrong with it but stop after a while. Tell yourself that it was awesome, you needed it, then move on to something else."

With the sun out, you can always take a walk through the neighbourhood or park, as long as you keep your distance from others of course. There are a number of outdoor games or activities you can play in the backyard with the kids as well, or you can always just lounge in a chair outside to get some fresh air.

"TV can be a temporary escape, and we don't need to necessarily label that as 'bad' because it's not bad. If you have something you want to do - whether it's eating a bag of chips or watching Netflix, you should sit back and think about this; Is this really what my heart needs right now?'".

Cunningham also recommends limiting your screen time when it comes to social media. While there are developments to the COVID-19 situation seemingly every hour; reading comments, posts, and stories nonstop can create a bad mindset.

"I'm encouraging people to get off of social media. I have been glued on it and it has actually really negatively affected my mood. By turning it off or at least limiting the amount of time your spending on social media, you open up a whole new world for these other discoveries. Having that time to connect with your mind, body, and soul all together."
