The Special Needs Advisory Committee is hosting a meeting this week to help pass on some skills to local residents in the time of an emergency. The committee has enlisted the help of the Moose Jaw and District Paramedics and the Moose Jaw Police Service for an evening of Education and Wellness.

Angela Sereda is with the paramedics but also sits on the committee, she says anyone who attends will learn about what to during a heart attack or stroke while also learning from police about how to protect yourself from Internet and phone scams.

"This is open to the public and anybody can come down to Moose Jaw City Council Chambers," explained Sereda. "It's from 7 to 8:30 and there will be an opportunity for questions that people have as well as a little bit of a social afterwards."

The Education & Wellness Evening will also give residents a chance to meet the people behind the badge with Sereda saying they want to put that friendly face out there so that people don't feel intimidated when they need to interact with paramedics or the police.
