MLA for Moose Jaw/Wakamow Greg Lawrence says he has plenty to be happy about looking back on the last year.

Lawrence says the Wigmore Hospital is one of his highlights from this year and believes the healthcare facility made a very big impact on the city.

"The most important thing for Moose Jaw is again, the new hospital, the doctor Wigmore Regional Hospital" says Lawrence. "That is so great to see a brand new facility like that in our city. The people of Moose Jaw and the surrounding region truly deserve that."

Other accomplishments Lawrence is proud of from the past year was passing the Essential Services legislation.

"Well we also passed this fall the new Essential Services Law to help protect the Saskatchewan people to help make sure our services are taken care of, their services are taken care of in the event of a public sector strike. That's really important and something we had to work on."

Lawrence is working on helping people to become foster families for children who have been put up for adoption, as he and his wife have fostered children for some time.

"We're always looking for new foster parents, we'll probably be announcing a new initiative early in the year to help recruit foster parents. So I'm working close with the ministry of social services and the Saskatchewan foster families association to get that process done."

Lawrence is looking forward to the new year and is excited to see what the future holds.
