It is something that we do almost every week and many of us take for granted.

Mowing the lawn can be a simple household chore but we need to remember just how dangerous mowers are.

With all of the potential dangers of using a lawnmower Ryan Durand, of the Saskatchewan Safety Council is reminding resident about lawnmower safety.

"Having something over your eyes and definitely something over your feet, don't be out there in your flip flops cutting the grass it doesn't have to be steel-toed but just a pair of shoes, if that's all you have, is going to be better at keeping those toes covered up".

Once you have yourself taken care of you need to also think about others.

"Take a quick look around look for hazards and keep other people out of the area while you are in their doing that work if there is no need for someone to be out there playing around whether that be kids or whatever you have in the yard its best to keep people out of that area while you are doing that work". Said Durand.

Mowing the lawn can remain a task in peoples day-to-day activities but we need to make sure that we keep in mind the safety of ourselves and others.
